At WDB Trust, empowerment begins within. The values that drive our work in communities — trustworthiness, accountability, respect, and care — are the same values that shape how we engage with one another as a team.
This spirit came to life during the WDB Trust 2025 Roadshows, held across KwaZulu-Natal (18–19 September) and Mpumalanga (23–24 October). The sessions, led by the HR and Management teams, brought together staff from various regions to reflect, reconnect, and realign around our shared mission of empowering rural women and transforming society.
Bringing the ‘Siyaqoqa’ Strategy to Life
The roadshows provided an open, energising space for colleagues to engage directly with leadership, discuss new HR policies, and deepen their understanding of the Siyaqoqa Strategy — WDB Trust’s blueprint to drive lasting transformation.
Topics ranged from HR policies and staff wellness to career development and programme integration, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to transparent communication and continuous learning.
Employees also had the opportunity to interact with partners such as Alex Forbes and Kaelo Health, who shared valuable insights on financial planning and wellness.
For many, it was also a chance to connect with colleagues working across different provinces — a reminder that while WDB Trust’s footprint is national, our purpose remains united.
Building a Connected, Purpose-Driven Organisation
These gatherings are part of WDB Trust’s ongoing effort to foster a culture of connection and shared purpose. By creating regular touchpoints between teams and leadership, we strengthen our internal cohesion — ensuring that every member of the organisation feels informed, valued, and aligned with our mission.
As we move into the final stretch of 2025, the energy from these sessions continues to ripple through our work. From programme facilitators in rural communities to our administrative teams in city offices, the message is clear: we are one WDB Trust, united in purpose and passion.
A Culture Rooted in Empowerment
The 2025 Roadshows reaffirmed that change isn’t just something WDB Trust delivers — it’s something we practice. Empowerment starts with people who feel connected, supported, and proud of the work they do.
By nurturing that culture, WDB Trust ensures that the values guiding its programmes in communities are the same values lived every day inside the organisation.
