Financial Manager

The Financial Manager leads all day-to-day accounting operations, with functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, and reporting. Responsibilities also include production of financial reports; proper maintenance of accounting records; accurate processing of financial transactions and administration of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles, and result in flawless audits. Supports financial decision-making information by collecting, processing, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial data.


Prepare accurate monthly financial and management reports, including income statement, balance sheet, budget and variance, projections and forecast and cash flow.

Analyzes complex financial data and extracts and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project financial probability

Manage, review and approve all payments in line with standard operating procedures.

Review and approve month-end closing procedures, including expense allocations, account and bank reconciliations, and updating of related schedules. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.

Tracking and analysis of business performance in comparison to budget.

Preparation and submission of Tax reports in accordance to PBO.

Preparation of business models and due diligence as requested by Leadership. Effective Management of the operational finances.


Bachelor Degree in finance or accounting CA(SA) with a min of 5 years' experience as a Financial Manager, ideally gained in a small to medium size business with at least 3 years of those having managed a small team.

Internal Controls

Manage audit requirements and remediate findings.

Design and Implement controls and procedures particularly on receivables, payables, fixed assets, etc.

Work with Senior Management and Group Risk to implement recommendations for improvement of financial management systems.

Continuous review of the relevant accounting systems to ensure more efficient and effective reporting.

Review of daily supplier payments to ensure all company approval policies and SARS requirements are adhered to.

Effective Management of the operational finance department by establishing and maintaining financial mechanisms that reduces or mitigate financial risk.


Occasional travel to operational field sites
